MOTHER of three Amanda Clarke has beaten her younger adversaries to be named Central Highlands Netball League's best and fairest.
The Bungaree centre polled 30 votes to win the award with Dunnstown's Johanna Dash finishing runner-up on 24.
Kelly Amoore from Waubra scored 21 votes to finish third.
"People can say you've had good seasons but you don't know what other people have done," Clarke said.
"I felt I had a consistent season but I know I put in a lot of hard work."
Clarke gave birth to her third daughter in January and managed to be fit for the beginning of the season.
"When I was younger I always had natural ability and as you get older you have to work harder," she said.
"I knew that I'd have a short time span to get back into it so I kept fit during the pregnancy.
"As soon as I gave birth I jumped right back in and started running again."
She was also part of the inaugural Pride squad when she was 16 and has been a strong identity in local netball.
With four rounds to go Clarke led by one vote and finished strongly, as did the Demons.
Clarke scored the maximum nine votes from the last three rounds while Dash scored six.
The pair play together for Dela Assuntas on Thursday night and are close friends despite getting ready to face off on Saturday.
"I played with her for a long time and her mum coached me for a long side," she said.
"We play with each on Thursday and play directly against each of on Saturday which will be good."
Bungaree had a slow start to the season but Clarke shone throughout, scoring votes regularly despite missing a couple of matches.
"We had a slow start season and this (the award) is even more unexpected because the whole team was even across the board," she said.
In the reserves, Dunnstown's Kristen Phyland polled in the last five rounds to score 29 votes.
She was seven ahead of Ballan's Bonnie Macklin and Newlyn's Rebecca Conroy.
