Delacombe netball on the move

04 Feb, 2010 11:41 PM
DELACOMBE Netball Club is on the move.

The club's three-tier competition has relocated to Wendouree Netball Centre after 18 years at Delacombe.

The new Delacombe season begins tomorrow, with the senior women's division the first to grace the courts at the new venue

Club president Kay Hitchens said the competition had out-grown the Delacombe facility, which had just the one court.

She said the two courts at Wendouree would allow for earlier finishes, which would suit the younger players, and provide scope to expand.

The club has had 10 senior teams, five 16-under and six 13-under teams. The under-age divisions cater for girls and boys.

Hitchens said the club was hoping the move to a different part of the city would help it attract new players.
