KELLIE Abrams already boasts one of the most decorated Women's National Basketball League playing records.
The Canberra Capitals' captain, who developed and honed her basketball skills as a youngster in Ballarat, has played more than 250 WNBL games in a career spanning 15 years.
Even more significantly, the 31-year-old guard has played in five WNBL championships with the Capitals.
Her title run began in 2001-02.
Abrams, who is a past Ballarat Lady Miner player, has since added the 2002-03, 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2008-09 titles.
She has an opportunity to add to this tally against Bulleen Boomers in Melbourne today in a rematch of last season's play-off.
Canberra is striving to become the first club to win seven WNBL championships, bettering the Nunawading Spectres' record of six.
The Capitals are led by champion Lauren Jackson, but the Boomers are the form team.
Bulleen finished the regular season on top of the ladder - two positions and five wins better off than the Capitals.
The Boomers have also beaten Canberra twice this season.
Bulleen also has a strong Lady Miners flavour, with former Ballarat captain Desiree Glaubitz a key playmaker and new Lady Miners recruit Rachel Jarry one of the WNBL's emerging young stars.
Abrams has enjoyed another fine campaign, with her defensive powers to the fore while averaging six points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game.
Glaubitz has been with Bulleen since 2003-04, and although the ultimate success has her eluded her with the Boomers, she is a WNBL championship player.
She captained the Australian Institute of Sport to the title in 1998-99.
The 18-year-old Jarry will join the Lady Miners for the first time next week as a first-year restricted player.
She is in only in her second WNBL season, having debuted with AIS in 2008-09.
To add to the Ballarat flavour in the grand final, Bulleen is coached by Tom Maher, who is married to Ballarat basketball legend Robyn Gull.
