Miners cop a hiding

12 Apr, 2008 12:42 AM
GEELONG Supercats repaid Ballarat Miners with interest in an authoritative 40-point hiding in the South East Australian Basketball League in Geelong last night.

The Supercats rebounded from its 25-point loss at the hands of the RetireInvest Ballarat Miners two weeks earlier to rule supreme on its own court 127-87 and stretch its winning streak to four in a remarkable 65-point turnaround.

The Miners are now under tremendous pressure to get back on top of their game against Kilsyth Cobras at the Minerdome tonight.

Back-to-back losses to North West Tasmania and now Geelong has undone some of the gains Ballarat made early in the season.

At four wins and three losses in the east conference, the Miners are in danger of dropping off the pace.

But they can get back on track in front of a home crowd tonight by defeating Kilsyth.

Miners coach Shane Mathison said last night that fans would see a "different" team.
