RAYLENE Reese has been inducted as the latest Brown Hill Netball Club life member.
Reese is the third inductee, joining Trish Boyle and Sue Purves.
Reese has played with Brown Hill for 40 years - or 880 games - including Premier League, A-grade Saturday competition, Monday morning ladies, and she is still competing on Tuesday nights, winning a premiership last season
with Brown Hill Gold.
She was also part of several Ballarat representative teams in the 1980-90s, playing all over the court but renowned particularly for her textbook shooting style and never-say-die attitude.
Reese is also an A grade umpire, training the next generation of Brown Hill umpires, as well as coaching juniors, including her daughter Chloe.
In inducting Reese, Brown Hill president Trish Boyle said Reese embodied her favourite quote: "Sport doesn't create character, it reveals it".
"Raylene has proved this time and time again," Ms Boyle said.Reese said, while she was contemplating retirement as a player, Chloe was keen to play with her mother first.
"I guess I can play one more season," Reese said.
