North Ballarat Roosters dismiss Jacob Spolding move

15 Nov, 2009 10:40 PM
NORTH Ballarat Football Club has dismissed a media report that dual premiership player Jacob Spolding is on the move at this stage.

The Geelong Advertiser has reported that Spolding has joined Geelong league team Newtown-Chilwell as an assistant coach.

North Ballarat football manager Marg Richards said the Roosters were aware Spolding had applied for teaching positions in Geelong and there had been interest in Spolding from Geelong football clubs.

She said North Ballarat met with Spolding on Friday as part of ongoing contract negotiations with players and he had informed the Roosters he had not made any football commitments for next year.

Spolding is teaching at Bacchus Marsh this year.

He is originally from the Geelong region, having started his playing career with Ocean Grove.

His brother Nick, who had time with the Roosters, plays with Newtown-Chilwell.
