Speedway ready to roar

06 Nov, 2009 10:52 PM
AN exciting season of speedway racing will get underway at Redline Raceway tonight.

Club president Mick Purdie was looking forward to the commencement of racing, which is expected to be one of the club's biggest in recent years.

"We can't wait," Purdie said.

"This is probably one of the biggest years Redline has ever put on."

Headlining tonight's racing will be round one of the junior Out and About Series, with Ballarat drivers Brooke Ferguson and Nick Cockerill expected to perform well.

A total of 26 events will be on show for spectators tonight, with gates opening at 3pm and racing expected to get underway shortly after 5pm.

A cheap night of entertainment is assured, with tickets $20 for adults, $15 for pensioners and $5 for children from 12 to 16 years.

The Redline Raceway is located at Buninyong.
