BALLARAT Grammar School and Loreto College triumphed in the Joe Merrylees School Teams Time-Trial in Ballarat recently Grammar's Jamie Huggett and Ben O'Neill added their names to the Merrylees Memorial Shield
with victory in the boys' division.
Chloe McIntosh followed on for her third in the Victorian School Cycling Championships. McIntosh teamed with Beth Canny to take out the girls' section for Loreto.
St Patrick's College also had a big contingent in the road event, which is run annually in memory of former Grammar student Joe Merrylees.
He was an inaugural member of the after-school cycling program instigated at Ballarat Grammar School in conjunction with the Ballarat-Sebastopol Cycling Club.
Merrylees died in a motor vehicle accident in 1988 at the age of 18.
