Quality to please fight fans

AN OPEN day of boxing will get the fight buffs' blood circulating tomorrow at the Ballarat Academy of Boxing.

About 100 rounds of boxing will greet fight fans from 11am at Boxing Academy trainer and promoter Ian Fear's venue at 1102 Armstrong St north.

A barbecue will be held after the open boxing day which includes a quality field of boxers.

Four-time ex-Australian professional champion Tony Miller will be in the ring as well as an Australian light heavyweight titleholder Kane McKay from Geelong.

Also on the program is Fear's son, Les, a former No 1 contender for the Australian junior welterweight title.

Unbeaten fighter Ballarat's Simon Anderson who is the State novice light heavyweight titleholder and former Australian super middleweight champion Kevin Murray will also show their wares.

Jake Ford with two wins from two fights, and James Werndly with five fights (two wins) will also take part in the open day.
