JO DASH has her "bag of tricks" in prime shape to conquer the business end of Netball Victoria's state league season.
The Ballarat Pride co-coach said her team was ready for anything.
Pride's trademark depth and tactical variety will be on show at Melbourne's Netball and Hockey Centre tonight against a tall and lightning fast Ariels.
While Ariels are hovering above a wooden spoon finish, second-placed Pride is taking nothing for granted.
Pride knows it must hit hard and fast from the opening whistle, which is how Pride left Ariels floundering in their round six encounter.
But then, Pride does not want to be predictable.
"We're covering a lot of bases," Dash said.
"We have our bag of tricks now: if something's not working then we pull out the next option.
"Each combination we have players are comfortable and confident with.
"We have built a two or three pronged attack and defence."
Dash said a short, sharp training session this week was exactly what her players needed to plunge into the remaining two rounds before finals.
Her players were emerging from the winter grey that bogged the team down last month.
Dash said she could tell spring was in the air- even if it did snow at training this week.
Pride will be looking to build on its blistering form of last round, which demolished Palladians by 25 goals.
Ariels have height across the court with young and highly accurate goalers.
Pride's strength will lie in its trademark defensive pressure, on-court experience and finely tuned teamwork.
Still, Dash has alerted her players to a potential ambush.
"Ariels are a big club and these girls train with championship players so they're not afraid of a physical contest," Dash said.
"They have a licence for the new Victorian Netball League and will want to take big scalps where they can.
"The only thing we can do to give ourselves the edge is to play the best way we know how - our own game."
