The CFA today asks motorists passing its Sturt St fire station to watch for exiting trucks.
That they even have to ask is a terrible indication of the lack of respect that some people show for our emergency services.
While we are sure that few motorists would deliberately impede the efforts of an emergency services vehicle, the very fact that they do shows a level of thoughtlessness.
When exiting the fire station, these vehicles are more than likely on their way to a life-threatening situation.
It is not a big ask to expect motorist using that part of Sturt St to be extra vigilant.
