Cross cartoons made a joke of religious beliefs

I WAS unimpressed to see two drawings in The Courier on Monday and Tuesday of our Lord struggling to carry His cross. These kind of drawings are not funny or smart, making light and a joke of such a serious and sacred event. These cartoons are irreverent, coarse and irreligious, and are not needed or appreciated in our present day society. It is bad enough having organised sport on Sunday, the Lord's day (a day for worship), and having former humorous programs on TV at 8pm, such as My Family being polluted by 'gay' characters, without this cartoon sacrilege. How will children know what is normal and beneficial if adults cannot get it right?M.
