YOUR readers will probably be aware that an independent investigation is underway into concerns that people may have been affected by training activities at the CFA Fiskville facility, south of Ballan.
The investigation is now fully operational and advertisements have been placed in the metro and regional press, seeking input from anyone who believe they (or a relative, friend or colleague) may have been exposed to harmful chemicals as a result of activities at Fiskville or at CFA regional training facilities.
The investigation team would also like to hear from people who have worked or trained at Fiskville and can provide our investigators with information about past chemicals handling and fire-fighter training practices.
People who would like to make a written submission or to meet with an investigator are encouraged to contact the Independent Fiskville Investigation by close of business Friday, February 17, by phone 5420 9260 or e-mail info@fiskvilleinvestigation.com.au or by visiting the investigation website www.fiskvilleinvestigation.com.au, where the terms of reference are available.
The report on the investigation is to be finalised by the end of March, so I strongly encourage those wanting to make an input to get in touch with the investigation team as soon as possible.

Chair, Independent Fiskville Investigation
