Graffiti project is fine art that improves city

I WOULD like to respond to some of the negative comments and incorrect assumptions regarding the graffiti art on the wall of Skipton St Fish Shop.

Firstly, there is no taxpayers' money involved in this project. It was fully funded by the business owners.

Secondly, please don't put these artists in the stereotyped box. One is a graphic art student at uni and I am sure he will do well in his career, the work speaks for itself.

The other, at the tender age of 16, has a full-time, permanent job and pays his own rent and bills. He is more responsible and mature than a lot of so-called adults I know.

They are both contributing members of this community and there has been lots of positive feedback from our customers and passing pedestrians.

I, personally, would prefer to look at vibrant and colourful artwork than a blank brick will in the many dreary winter months we endure in Ballarat.
