The Greens have questions to answer

The Greens have questions to answer

31 Jan, 2012 01:59 PM
ON Australia Day we witnessed in the nation's capital, a disgraceful act of political thuggery directed against our democratic system.

Directing this rabble to the cafe where an award ceremony was being held was a Greens Party activist.

Greens Party activists such as this person have been involved in violent protests from Queensland to the Kimberly.

The question the country wants answered by the leadership of the Greens is this:

Does the leadership condone and support the incitement of such violent behaviour by its members?

If not will they take steps to disaffiliate these people who have shown time and again that they have no respect for law and order or the rights of those with differing opinions?

Failure to take action will confirm the Greens' true agenda is controlled by a radical inner core hidden from the public. The sugar-coated image of the Greens promoted by founding father Bob Brown, to disguise their destructive economic and social policies, is beginning to crumble.

I agree that the Greens can be quite militant and violent when the more radical and fringe members of their party feel motivated to do so and people at large should recognise this. Although I doubt that Bob Brown or any of the senior leadership would have applauded the disgraceful behavior of those who protested in Canberra. There are quite a few at fault here and yes I agree with Mr Abbot that this matter deserves a proper and thorough investigation from ACT police. Ther ought to be at least criminal charges for disturbing the peace and inciting violence.
