US Army is already receiving recognition

06 Feb, 2012 04:02 PM
JOHN B Quinn's letter, dated February 4 titled: "US Army's arrival deserves recognition."

There is local commemoration of the arrival of the Americans at the Friends of the Anson Museum at the Ballarat Airport. A display board of their arrival, booklets, photos and a copy of our slang meanings to some of their words.

There is a committee in conjuction with the American Ex-Servicemen Association of Victoria, who are organising the 70th Anniversary of Camp Pell at Melbourne Royal Park on April 22 and to which I may have the honour to be their "Taps" bugler.

I wrote to the AESA in December for recognition for Ballarat . I will foward Mr Quinn's letter to AESA and state that there is some interest in Ballarat.
