Wind farm report brushed under carpet

20 Jan, 2012 11:00 AM
YET again I am staggered by Brendan Gullifer's unashamed bias against wind energy and his shoddy, misleading reporting.

The CSIRO has released a report which demonstrates that there is much greater support for wind farms than media reporting would suggest.

According to the report this is due to a vocal minority securing the majority of media attention.

In a perfect illustration of the findings of the report, Brendan Gullifer's article on January 18, 'Bias claim on CSIRO findings', brushed the report under the carpet and instead focused on negative responses from people who have always openly opposed wind farms, especially when the wind farm is in their shire or electorate and their re-election is dependent on it.

Gullifer even included an unsubstantiated allegation of bias in the CSIRO.

His article mentions that The Courier was not included in the CSIRO's examination of the media.

If it had the report's finding would have been even further justified.

You obviously have no knowledge of the wind industry and how it operates Paula if you have come to this conclusion.

Brendans report was extremly accurate in regards to what was said in this report and I comend him for digging a bit deaper than most of the simpleton reporters that exist these days who take the spin and rubbish fed to them as fact and report it as so.

Whats the bet Paula here is a lefty green supporter who couldnt care less about people effected by windturbines?

You really need to look beyond the surface Paula, there is much more to this story than meets the eye.

I suspect there is even more to it than what has been reported in the courier, but it could not be verified, maybe you could talk to our local labor member, she might shed some light on the origins of this csiro propaganda.

Hi Paula I believe the CSIRO was set up to help make us the clever country in the areas of scientific research and not social matters such as whether the public like wind farms or not. They should be using their scientific skills in analysing data produced by the grid operator AEMO. It shows 5min average data for each generator on the grid During 2010 on occasions the total wind farm output. was only 2 per cent of installed capacity. Why isn't CSIRO pointing this out to the general public. Taxpayers money wasted on such an unreliable system. Wind Farm Comp's laughing all the way to the bank.
