The Red Caps, which won the competition last year before progressing on to state title glory, will sit out the first night due to an unevenness in the fixture.
For the first time, Coronet City will be part of the Twenty20 Cup, meaning nine teams will battle it out in a traditional knockout format.
The three biggest winners of next Tuesday night’s opening round will progress to the semi-finals, with the smallest victor to meet Wendouree on Thursday in a bid for the remaining semi-final berth.
The district Twenty20 Cup will also kick-off on Tuesday.
Winners from the two round one matches will meet in a semi-final, with the “best” loser to take on Cricket Willow division two champions Lucas in the other semi.
Grand finals for both competitions will be played on Sunday, December 9 at Eastern Oval.
