The second round will take place at City Oval Bowls Club tomorrow, and the semi-final and final’s date and location is yet to be decided.
Jacinta Landers from BMS and Chloe Stewart from Kyneton will play for the top spot in the under-25 singles regional women’s final at Daylesford this Sunday, December 2.
THE midweek pennant has reached the halfway mark. There are a couple of standout teams, but many are fairly even and there is lots of competition.
When a club has two sides in the one division, an A and a B side, bowlers who have played nine or more games for one side can’t play for the other side within the same division.
In division one, Central Wendouree A has established itself fairly well as the top team.
In division two it is very close; top-of-the-ladder Creswick is only one point ahead of City Oval.
In divisions three and four, all places are up for grabs.
THE state pairs draw for Ballarat Bowling club on Tuesday, December 4 with 9.30am registration:
Section 1 – L Voterans, R Armstrong, J Vincent, J Kenyon.
Section 2 – F Grady, B Kinnersly, J Watson, L Nicholls.
Section 3 – H Hopkinson, J Adams, M Phelan, S Glasspool.
Section 4 – B. Huntley, H Snibson, J Shepherd, J Burt.
BALLAN will not continue its side in division three for the rest of this season. Side managers must fax in their score sheet and team names as usual to Val Savage when the side has a bye against Ballan.
PREDICTIONS for round
10:
Division one: Mt Xavier v Avenue – I am going for Mt Xavier, their greens are great and challenge Avenue often.
Division two: Ballarat North v Learmonth – both low on the ladder, but tip Ballarat North to win.
Division three: Webbcona v Midlands – jostle for first place, predict Webbcona at their home ground.
Division four: Daylesford, v Buninyong – home team Daylesford will take the win, but it will be very close.
