Director of community develRopment Paul Nolan said the college’s Powercor substation went into meltdown 2.30pm yesterday, wiping out all power to their site.
He said Powercor was investigating the issue.
“We’re asking parents to find alternative arrangements,” he said. “All classes will be cancelled.”
The school was forced to make the decision last night, but had no way of contacting parents as their databases were down.
Mr Nolan said the college would have staff on duty today and backup generators running to power their information technology and phone systems.
“We’re confident for classes to resume on Monday,” he said.
The college was also forced to cancel its junior school awards presentation night.
