Labor's Geoff Howard was elected to state government for Ballarat in September 1999.
The residents of Mt Helen may be wondering what action was taken in relation to a fire station in the 11 years to 2010.
In contrast, the coalition plans to complete the acquisition of land and construction of the Mt Helen station in its first term of office.
