But then again it’s not every day you turn 12 on the 12th of the 12th, 2012.
And Manny gets to celebrate his milestone with all of his St James Parish School classmates at his grade six graduation, having already had his party at Laser Force last Saturday, followed by a sleepover.
However, mum Anna still has a few surprises up her sleeve for her only child’s big day.
“He knows we’re going to his favourite restaurant Lazy Moes before the graduation,” Anna said.
And what is going to be Manny’s birthday meal? “The parma!” Manny said.
Anna said she didn’t initially realise Manny would one day have a special 12th birthday.
“It was only a couple of years ago that we started talking about it,” Anna said.
“It would have been great if he’d been born at 12 past 12 but he wasn’t, he was born just after 7pm.”
Manny said he felt really lucky to be able to celebrate such a unique event.
And he’s hoping for a few computer games to mark the occasion.
Manny shares his special day with Caleb Southurst, who will also turn 12 today.
And also blowing out the candles is The Curry Star owner Goldy Brar who has a few ideas on how to celebrate turning 29 on such an unusual date.
“I am giving all my customers a dessert and a glass of champagne free,” he said.
“Then I am going to have a big lunch with my family in Melbourne.
“And then I have a few special plans for myself, like maybe buying myself a nice new car. I haven’t decided yet, but I definitely have some ideas.”
Goldy, who opened The Curry Star in Dana Street six months ago, will also celebrate another special milestone this month.
“I have been in the hospitality industry for 12 years too. I started in December 2000.”
Goldy also knows an Indian celebrity who celebrates his birthday on the 12th of the 12th — cricket player Yuvraj Singh.
