Police are searching for a man who followed a woman as she walked along a quiet street in Melbourne's north before sexually assaulting her.
Just before 1am on November 1, the woman, 24, was walking along Archibald Street, Pascoe Vale, when she realised a man was behind her.
He grabbed her on the lower body, which made her yell and run inside a nearby house, a police spokeswoman said.
The attacker left the area. He is described as being of chubby build, Indian appearance and aged between 28 and 35.
He was about 175 centimetres tall with very short dark hair, brown, round eyes, a clean shaven face and thick eyebrows.
The attacker was wearing a short-sleeved dark red polo shirt and runners.
Detectives have released an image of a man they would like to speak with.
Anyone who saw the attack or knows the man is asked to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
