IT may have not been super hot yesterday but that didn’t stop a dedicated bunch of pool goers from enjoying some fun in the occasional sun.
Taylah, 13, and Jordan, 12, Learmout were joined by their cousin Tiarhn Richardson, 12, and friend Mitchell Dellar, 11, at the otherwise deserted Black Hill Aquatic Centre in Chisholm Street.
The Learmout kids have a seasonal pass and can be found at the pool most days.
“I just like swimming here,” Jordan said, before performing some high dives off the diving board into the chilly water.
Lifeguard Courtney Trigg said numbers during the first month of the pool season had been pretty good.
“It’s been not too bad apart from the past few days obviously,” Courtney said.
She said the pool did not have to open unless it was over 22 degrees but they had made the decision to still throw open the gates, despite the predicted 20 degree top.
A Eureka Pool spokesperson said attendances at the Stawell Street site had been fantastic throughout December.
“We’re getting a lot of people through the gate,” the spokesperson said.
The Buninyong, Wendouree and Brown Hill pools could not be contacted for comment yesterday.
