Arriving at St John of God Hospital yesterday at 4.09pm, a proud grandfather has already signed Max up for a future New South Wales State of Origin side.
Mother and newborn Max, weighing 9 pounds 8 ounces, were both resting comfortably last night and being cared for by the dedicated nursing staff. Midwife Simone van Zanen said newborns and their parents received special care during the festive season.
“I think it probably is a bit different to other times of year and we try to make it special for mothers and their babies,” she said.
“It has been very busy over December and we have a lot of bookings for January.” with some babies deciding to come early so we’re working hard.”
