Daylesford woman critical but stable after Hepburn Springs crash

THE Daylesford woman who crashed into a tree early on Sunday morning remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital in Melbourne.

The 24-year-old woman is in The Alfred hospital, suffering head injuries.

She crashed into a tree on Main Road in Hepburn Springs and was trapped in her car for almost an hour as emergency crews worked to clear her from the wreckage.

Neighbours, including some off-duty nurses who heard the crash, performed CPR on the woman until the ambulance arrived

Once freed, she was airlifted to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
