Local singers and dancers will perform in a variety concert held at Ballarat and District Trotting Club on February 22 to help raise funds for the Red Cross Tasmanian bushfire appeal.
Organiser Ammie Moneghetti said the concert would offer something for everyone.
“The concert is an opportunity for people to feel like they are contributing to the effort, just by attending,” she said.
“It is important for those effected by this tragedy to know they have support.
“We urge people to come along, knowing that by their attendance they are helping the cause. Every single dollar counts.”
After the 2009 Victorian bushfires, Ms Moneghetti organised a concert in Colac which raised $4500 for the Red Cross appeal, and is hoping to do the same this year in Ballarat.
“Seeing the devastation in the print media and on television, and the deep hurt on the faces fn those effected was very upsetting. I just want to help in some way,” Ms Moneghetti said.
There will also be raffles and auctions on the night.
