For devotees of fine counterpoint it wasn’t solely about the music, and the Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields festival director made sure his audience was well catered for.
After a day of enjoying recitals in Stawell, audience members were invited to Michael Unwin Wines, in Beaufort, to enjoy a meal prepared by renowned organist, composer and festival music director Sergio de Pieri.
80-year-old Sergio, who is said to have taught his brother chef Stefano to cook, tackled the task of preparing pasta for more than 80 people with his customary gusto.
Michael Unwin Wines has had a long-standing collaboration with Sergio’s brother Stefano, and was thrilled to host the event.
Mr Unwin even picked up some culinary hints for his famous Sunday Tapas luncheons.
