From pop stars and models to publicans and underworld figures, the wide circle of friends and associates who turned up to bar tsar James Miller's funeral on Monday was testament to the broad sweep of Sydney he touched.

James Miller was found dead at his Elizabeth Bay flat just over a week ago. He was 38.
Miller, one half of a duo credited with revolutionising Sydney's pub scene, was also being mourned as a devoted father, loyal friend, and charismatic character. Through his Drink 'n' Dine company he had become known to thousands of patrons at his Norfolk, Carrington, Abercrombie and Santa Barbara hotels. He had also co-founded the popular Sumo Salad chain.
In a moving eulogy, Miller's mother Margaret recounted her memories of a precocious and sweet little boy, who from a young age, showed signs of becoming an entrepreneur.
She also spoke of her more recent concerns about her son living "such a fast life ... I begged him to slow down, he just hugged me and said 'I'm OK mum, don't worry'".
It is believed Mr Miller died of an accidental overdose, and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for the Coroner's Court said on Monday a post-mortem examination had been completed and investigators were awaiting the results of a toxicology test, which can take up to eight weeks. Police are preparing a report to assist the coroner's inquest.
Mr Miller's business partner, Jaime Wirth, paid tribute to his close friend.
Mr Wirth said his heart went out to Mr Miller's family, his young son Xavier and his ''great number of friends''.
''He will be dearly missed by all,'' Mr Wirth said.
Sources said Mr Miller's flatmates, Nasser Elkordi and Andrew Hawkins, found him in their Elizabeth Bay flat about 11pm on Sunday, January 13. It is believed he may have ingested illicit drugs and sleeping tablets.
Another associate, Georgia Magree, posted on Facebook: ''My brother and best friend love you with all my heart for ever and ever."
Her father, a Kings Cross businessman and Mr Miller's landlord, was a pallbearer.
Mr Miller and Mr Wirth opened their latest venue, Santa Barbara in Kings Cross, just last month.
Fairfax Media also featured them in the (sydney) magazine top 100 most influential people.
