BALLARAT District Bowls Division women’s triples and champion of champion singles are the main events on the calendar in the coming weeks.
The triples finals will be held today at Buninyong Bowls Club, where Dot Bull’s team from Daylesford will take on Joy Adams’ team from Mt Xavier in the semi-finals.
Jenny Shepherd’s team from Webbcona has a bye in the semi-finals and will go straight onto the finals where she will play the winners from the other match.
The women’s champion of champion singles will be held next week on Tuesday, January 29 at Ballarat Bowls Club.

Bowlers should come and support club singles champions on these days, with good bowling to be seen.
HEATHER Hopkinson and Lee Wilson will represent the division after winning the pairs event bowling in the regional finals on February 3 at Dunnolly. Good luck to this pair.
THE coach trip to the Australian Open is on February 22, for a great day with finals of men’s and women’s singles and finals of the women’s pairs in the main stadium. SOME close results and big wins on Monday in round 15 of the midweek pennant.
CHAMPIONSHIP triples played at Buninyong winners from Tuesday:
Section one: D Bull (Daylesford) two wins and a forfeit
Section two: J Adams ( Mt Xavier), three wins
Section three: J Shepherd (Webbcona) two wins on count back for three games from Barbara Kinnersly
D Bull and J Adams’ teams should be at Buninyong at 9am.
J Shepherd team should arrive by 10.30 (it is forecast to be hot) so precaution being taken.
PREDICTIONS for round 17 (second last home and away)
Division one: Daylesford v Avenue, will be a good game as both teams are strong, but I believe Avenue will win.
Division two: City Oval v Beaufort, City Oval will win at home.
Division three: Daylesford v Midlands, will be a close match with Daylesford a little stronger.
Division four: City Oval v Buninyong, this will be a hard fought game but Buninyong will prevail.
