I was saddened and sickened when I visited Lake Burrumbeet on January 20.

What I found dumped on the foreshore and in the bush was appalling. There was rubbish such as bottles, cans and other various froms of litter thoughtlessly left behind.
There was even an old filthy mattress discarded by the lake. I cannot believe people, whether visitors camping or locals, could have such disregard for such a lovely resource.
This area should be cherished and treated with respect. It gives so much enjoyment for fishermen and boat owners.
Whoever is responsible for this mess is a disgrace to our enlightened society.
