But as we can see from submissions to last week’s ‘School Holiday Adventures’ reader assignment, there is much more to see and do during the holidays than visit the beach.
Daylesford’s Karen Walker captured her winning photo at the Melbourne Zoo when a friendly butterfly settled on her four-year-old daughter Brylee’s hat. Mrs Walker said her family of five had been busy these school holidays making day trips across the state.
“We go to New Zealand every second year but this year we stayed home and have been to the zoo, to the swimming pool in Kyneton and to the movies,” Mrs Walker said.
Other submitted photos showed our readers enjoying the sun in a variety of locations, whether at the beach in Rosebud, the Halls Gap Zoo or their own backyard.
Renee Fraser sent in a photo of sisters Georgia and Charlotte Spark enjoying their getaway up north at Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas, Queensland.
Mrs Walker has won a double pass to the Regent Cinemas. Go online to www.thecourier.com.au for a gallery of your ‘School Holiday Adventures’ photos.
NEXT WEEK:
Our next assignment is ‘Show us your Australia Day. We’re asking our readers to show us how they’re celebrating Australia Day, be it with a barbecue, at the beach, at the lake, what they’re wearing and what they’re eating. If your photo is published next Friday, you could win.
WHAT TO DO: Take your Australia Day colours photo and submit it via the report button on The Courier’s iPhone and Android app assignment.
