The show, which has built a cult following, is hosted by Julia Zemiro and Brian Nankervis and featuring the RocKwiz Orkestra (Orkestra) and mystery musical guests, will be live at Her Majesty’s Theatre in June.
Money raised by the one-off show will aid The Courier Charity Fund.
The Courier Charity Fund chairman Steve Moneghetti said the benefits of showcasing RocKwiz in Ballarat would be significant.
“I am really excited about bringing RocKwiz to Ballarat because I love the show and while we will all have lots of fun it will also be an innovative way of raising vital money for The Courier Charity Fund,” Mr Moneghetti said.
The RocKwiz Live shows are an extension of the television show but on a bigger scale. Audience members rub shoulders with Australia music royalty during the shows. The Courier Charity Fund was established in 2002 as a long-term community commitment.
It benefits regionally-based community organisations for costed projects. The fund invests and allocates money through the Ballarat Foundation and has donated over $240,000 to local groups and organisations since its inception.
The Ballarat RocKwiz show is supported by The City of Ballarat and sponsored by Sovereign Hill. Anyone interested in supporting the event should contact The Courier marketing manager Serena Eldridge.
Tickets for RocKwiz Live will go on sale through Majestix from Tuesday.
