NORTH Ballarat Rebels' graduate Tom McDonald is the AFL round 13 rising star nominee.
The second-year Demon's nomination was unveiled this morning.
Melbourne has developed McDonald into a key defender, earning his chance in round two and keeping his spot since.
McDonald lined-up on 2011 number one draft pick Jonathon Patton and kept him quiet in the Demons' 78-point win against Greater Western Sydney.
Nineteen-year-old McDonald hails from Edenhope-Apsley in the Wimmera.
McDonald was drafted to Melbourne from the Rebels at pick 53 in the 2010 AFL national draft.
