BFL celebrates Multicultural Round

BALLARAT Football Netball League will celebrate its inaugural "Multicultural Round" this weekend.

The theme is designed to acknowledge cultural diversity in Australian Rules.

BFNL chief executive officer Rod Ward said the round would celebrate "Many Cultures — One Game" and highlight the growing number of AFL players from culturally diverse backgrounds.

He said the BFNL had decided to support the AFL's push to promote and recognise the cultural diversity in football because of its capacity to bring people together from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Goal umpires will provide a visible symbol of "Multicultural Round" by using orange flags.

Orange is recognised as the international colour of harmony.
