CORONET City's decision to send Wendouree in to bat back-fired in a big way this afternoon.
An unbeaten century from Tristan Dixon helped the Ballarat Cricket Association club firsts ladder-leaders post a massive first innings total of 8-367 at Wendouree Reserve.
Dixon finished with 159 from just 143 balls to set up a huge run chase for the visiting side on day two.
Liam Brady made 53 at the top of the order, while David Ellis added 88 to complete a big day for the home team.
Elsewhere, Darley has secured first innings points in its clash with Ballarat-Redan, fighting hard to pass the Combine's 87 and be 8-110 at stumps, Mt Clear is 0-6 chasing Naps-Sebas' 223, East Ballarat is 0-23 in pursuit of North Ballarat's 208 and Brown Hill will resume at 2-34 in reply to Golden Point's earlier 164.
Bulls' quick Matt McMahon continued his outstanding season with 7-52.
