NORTH Ballarat Rebels has been stopped in their tracks by Geelong Falcons
The Falcons out-lasted the Rebels by five points in a dour match at Werribee on Sunday.
North Ballarat has won six games on end and led the under-18 competition's ladder.
This is the second time this year less than a kick has separated the teams.
The Rebels defeated the Falcons by two points at Warrnambool.
North Ballarat went into Sunday's clash just 0.21 per cent clear of Gippsland Power on top.
Power also lost, doing down to Murray Bushrangers by 45 points.

DARLEY has taken an enormous step towards a return to Ballarat Football League finals with a 16.10 (106) to 9.13 (67) victory over East Point on Saturday.
The result lifts Darley two games clear of Melton South in seventh position on the BFL ladder after the Panthers were defeated by North Ballarat City, the black and whites winning 6.7 (43) to 3.8 (26) at Eureka Stadium.
Bacchus Marsh rebounded from a horror fortnight with a 21.13 (139) to 8.12 (60) victory against Sebastopol at Maddingley Park.
Lake Wendouree endured a miserable, goalless day at Clarke Oval, Sunbury trouncing the Lakers 21.12 (138) to 0.5 (5). And Ballarat defeated Melton 11.14 (80) to 7.12 (54) at Alfredton Oval.

BALLARAT Miners had mixed fortunes over the weekend.
The Miners did the job against Sandringham at the Minerdome on Saturday night, winning by 23 points.
The news was not so good against Knox on the road on Sunday, losing 106-93.
The Miners did well to finish as closely as they did after trailing by 27 points at half-time.
Reggie Larry scored 18 points, and Tim Coenraad 17 points and nine rebounds.

WOMEN
BALLARAT Rush season prospects took a double hit at the weekend.
Sandringham edged past Rush by four points at the Minerdome on Saturday.
Then Knox dished out a 30-point thumping for Ballarat at Knox on Sunday.
Rush shot at just 25 per cent on its way to 41 pioints.
Andrea McMahon and Kate Willer each shot 14 points in a forgettable day.

Ballarat Red Devils continued their run of form in Football Federation Victoria's men's state league two today.
The Haymes Red Devils scored two late goals to defeat Preston Lions 2-0 at Trekardo Park.
VICTORIAN NETBALL LEAGUE
Ballarat Pride's championship division team has saved the best till last and avoided a winless season, with a 60-47 triumph over Boroondara Genesis in Balwyn on Saturday.
Katherine Hard scored 42 from 47 shots, while Georgia Cann had 18 goals from 28.
Pride's 19/under team lost to Boroondara by five goals but that was enough to lock in second place on the ladder and earn Ballarat the double chance in finals.
