Illabarook v Creswick at Smythesdale, tomorrow, 2.30pm
AND so begins Creswick’s crunch six-week run to finals.
Eight points adrift of the top eight, the Wickers need to win their fair share of games if finals is to become a reality for the first time since the premiership year of 1987. Coach Damian Lubeek said he hoped his side could win all of its remaining fixtures against Illabarook, Ballan, Carngham-Linton, Skipton, Springbank and Rokewood-Corindhap.
“I want finals so I’m definitely going to be pushing the boys as hard as I can,” Lubeek said. “It’s going to be close on percentage with Beaufort, so playing sides like Illabarook, if we are going to be a finals player, we need to win and win convincingly.”
PREDICTION: Creswick by 40 points.
