HUNDREDS of red, blue and yellow balloons have been released into the sky to farewell Ballarat’s Tommi Knight as a crowd of 350 people said in unison: “Superheroes live forever.”
A funeral service at St Aloysius Church in Redan for Tommi this afternoon featured nursery rhymes and plenty of singing.
Tommi’s parents Jess Heard and Bob Knight recited a special poem about their 25-month-old son, who died of Tay-Sachs Disease on Monday.
Tommi had been the only sufferer of Tay-Sachs in Australia, and was diagnosed just two weeks before he turned one.
