SAM the clown was kept on her toes yesterday by the hordes of children wanting entertainment at the Ballarat Specsavers store in the Bridge Mall.
The kids were all also helping raise funds for William and Ashleigh Skewes, who were left orphaned last month.
Parents gladly handed out gold-coin donations for face painting and balloons to support the pair, whose mother Belinda died of cancer last June and whose father Nathan passed away suddenly last month.
Specsavers manager Krystal Green said their collection tin was full.
“We’ve been overwhelmed,” Ms Green said. “People just wanted to put in donations.”
William, 2, and Ashleigh, 4, attended the Fun For Kids day for a few hours, accompanied by two of Nathan’s brothers and Belinda’s father.
