CHFL: Waubra slips to fourth after Buninyong defeat

WAUBRA has slipped to fourth on the Central Highlands Football League ladder following a 31-point loss to premiership contenders Buninyong.

The Roos, second before the start of round 12, are now just one game clear inside the top four.

Buninyong led the contest at Waubra at every change, proving to good for the Roos in an old-fashioned slog.

The Bombers have jumped to third following the win, with Hepburn's 45-point victory over Ballan lifting the Burras to second.

Bungaree, which was 43-point winners against Clunes this afternoon, is now a game clear at the top of the ladder with five matches remaining before finals.

Daylesford is within four points of Waubra following an important 22-point win over Springbank, Newlyn leapfrogged the Tigers into sixth following a 20-point victory against Learmonth, Beaufort survived a massive scare against Rokewood-Corindhap, which hit the lead in the final term only to lose by 14 points, Creswick kept its finals hopes alive, prevailing against Illabarook by 67 points, Dunnstown defeated Carngham-Linton by 33 points and Gordon got home over Skipton, winning 6.14 (50) to 5.11 (41).
