A CENTURY-and-a-half of runs and wickets, successes and failures will be remembered during the Linton Cricket Club’s 150-year celebrations next month.

The club, which formed in 1863, will officially mark the milestone with a function on Saturday, March 2.
Linton secretary Belinda Griffin has been heavily involved in planning for the day, which will incorporate the club’s final home and away game of the Grenville Cricket Association season against Rokewood.
Griffin said she hoped between 100-150 people would attend the event.
“Over the last 12 months we have sourced a couple of guys from each of the generations,” Griffin said.
“We’ve got some coming from Queensland and Tasmania.”
Former Australian cricketer and Cricket Victoria chief executive officer Tony Dodemaide will visit the club for the festivities, which will be held at the Linton Recreation Reserve and include award presentations and the launch of the club’s statistics/history book.
A range of memorabilia and photos will also be on display.
The Linton Cricket Club has won 15 premierships, across three different leagues, throughout its existence. This includes three premierships in a row from 2005-06 to 2007-08.
And during the past 10 years the club has been a force, playing in eight grand finals and winning five.
