The Ballan Jets, which was created in October last year, welcomed 30 teams, with players coming from around Australia to the Ballarat Polocrosse Grounds on Airport Drive.
The Jets had previously competed at the past two Victorian tournaments.
Ballan combined with the Ballarat club to field a team in the A-grade competition, eventually won by Trafalgar, and had its own team in B-grade, which made the semi finals.
South Australia defeated Victoria 2-1 in the headline under-16 mixed test series during the weekend.
Ballan president Matt Jarmain said things were progressing nicely for the club.
“We just all felt like something different and got together and decided that this is what we wanted to do,” Jarmain said.
“We’ve got 10 playing members and five social members on paper. We’re not trying to get too big, just 2-3 teams and around 20 players would be a good number we reckon.
“It’s our first season so it’s going to take a while to get right up there but we’ve got to start somewhere I suppose.”
Victorian Polocrosse public relations officer Nicky McMaster said it was a successful weekend.
