Man airlifted to Melbourne after Dereel crash

A 19-year-old man has been airlifted to Melbourne after suffering head injuries in a single car roll-over at Dereel just after 12pm today.

Ambulance Victoria Spokesman John Mullen said a road crew from Ballarat had attended the scene at Rokewood Junction Rd where they quickly transferred the sole occupant of the vehicle to the Dereel oval to await air transport.

He was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is in a serious but stable condition.

A CFA spokesman said crews had attended the scene to wash spilt fuel from the road.
