BALLARAT rugby team St Pat’s Old Collegians RUFC will play in a Victorian Rugby Union Country 7s tournament as a curtain raiser to the Rebels versus Hurricanes trial match at Simonds Stadium in Geelong today.
They will take on Bendigo in a 15-minute match at 1pm. The winners will then move on to the next round.
Team chairman Geoff Dewar said after returning to training soon after Christmas, the team was looking forward to the match to start the season.
“It’s a good start to prepare us for when the domestic season kicks off in April,” Dewar said.
Dewar said the team was open to anyone at any level in Ballarat, with training Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.15pm on the Shed Oval at St Patrick’s College.
“We are still looking for new players, so if anyone is interested in coming along for a run they are more then welcome,” he said.
