A 64-year-old Musk man died in a late night single-car collision on at Dale's Creek near Ballan last night.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the man was driving a Toyota tray utility north along the Greendale-Blackwood Road when the car veered off the road around 10.20pm.
Investigators believe the driver failed to complete a right hand bend in the road before hitting a tree and rolling the vehicle down an embankment, trapping both the driver and a 69-year-old man who was a passenger in the car.
The driver died at the scene while the passenger was transported by road to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries following the accident.

Victoria Police investigators formally identified the driver and notified his next of kin today.
A report on the death will prepared for the Victorian coroner in coming days, with police reminding drivers to use caution when country roads driving at night and to avoid driving when fatigued.
