Australia's youngest ranger wants Ellen to visit him at Ballarat Wildlife Park

CHARLIE Parker wants Ellen DeGeneres to visit him at Ballarat Wildlife Park.

Branded Australia’s youngest park ranger, Charlie, who turns three next month, has made a public plea to the talk show host via a YouTube post that has been gathering momentum.

The video shows Charlie handling a non-venomous snake – “see, he doesn’t bite”, he says – checking on frogs at the park and getting ready to head home after a long day’s work.

Posted on Saturday, the video has already had almost 200 views.

Ballarat Wildlife Park managing director and Charlie’s dad, Greg Parker, said the young wildlife warrior was already quite well-known about town and often recognised in the supermarket, or had people asking to meet him at the park.

Mr Parker said Charlie’s visits to the park were very much a “go with the flow” thing, just when Charlie was able to be there.

Charlie has decided he wants to show Ellen his park.

“Charlie just loves dancing and dancing with (Ellen) when she comes on TV in her first segment,” Mr Parker said.

“It’s just a fun thing, we’re having a bit of fun with the video.

“We’re not really worried about how it goes.

“Charlie’s got a great smile and just seems to charm people.”

Ellen DeGeneres and her Australian-born wife Portia de Rossi are expected to fly into Melbourne on March 15 for the first leg of their journey.
