The bureau says the storms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones.
Locations which may be affected include Ballarat, Kyneton and Bacchus Marsh.
The State Emergency Service has also advised people in the Grampians region should beware of the potential for landslide and road debris, with fires in the region.
