BFL boss Rod Ward has been appointed head of the new AFL Goldfields administration, encompassing the BFL, CHFL, MCDL and BFUA.
BALLARAT Football League boss Rod Ward will step up to govern the region's country football.
AFL Victoria this afternoon unveiled Ward as inaugural AFL Goldfields regional general manager.
Ward will oversee administrative structure and football development across the Ballarat Football Netball League, Central Highlands Football League, Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League and the Ballarat Football Umpires Association.
AFL Victoria Goldfields Commission chairman Tim Bunning said Ward's appointment followed an extensive interview process of high-quality candidates.
Ward looked forward to his new role and was thrilled for the opportunity.
His position with the Goldfields region becomes effective on April 1.
