MORE Ballarat streets are a step closer to being NBN fibre ready.
Contractors were spotted pulling pipes through pits near the corner of Howard and Crompton streets, north of the central business district, this morning.
Fibre will be hauled through the pipes in the final stages of NBN construction.
NBN Co general manager of external affairs Trent Williams last month said detailed design works were under way, at different stages of completion, in parts of the Ballarat central business district, Invermay Park, Ballarat North, Newington, Soldiers Hill, Black Hill, Eureka, Ballarat East and Nerrina.
